Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. First English edition. Translated by John Coomb. Jacket illustrated with stills from the Norwegian film. Lengthy gift inscription from a member of the author's family on front fly (see below). Front fly with light evidence of pricing with grease pencil (barely affecting a small portion of the inscription), top corners just worn through with what appear to be tiny tissue reinforcements, a very good copy in a just about very good dust jacket with tiny chips at the folds, shallow loss at the crown, spine lettering a bit sunned, and a small internal dampstain at the top of the lower flap fold that barely shows through. The gift inscription reads: "Larkollen, Norwway Dec. 21 1987. Dear Karen and Son! We found a book in the shelf that we hope will be of interest to you. It is a suspense-novel written by Mads' grandfather, André Bjerke, under the psuedonym Bernhard Borge, in 1942, when he was 24 years old. Among other things it reflects his interest in psycho-analysis. We wish you a happy New Year! Elisabeth and Espen." An uncommon mystery with an interesting association. *OCLC* locates only eight copies in the U.S.

In original paper. Zustand: Fine condition. First edition. First edition. In original paper. 47 p. A rare catalogue of the landmark 1935 Copenhagen Surrealist exhibition, featuring works by masters such as Dalí, Giacometti, and Magritte, with an introduction by André Breton. This first edition catalogue from the Exposition Internationale Kubisme-Surrealisme de Copenhague, held from January 15 to 28, 1935, presents a significant moment in the history of Surrealism's international reach. Featuring an introduction by André Breton, the catalogue includes a list of works and numerous reproductions of paintings, sculptures, and photographs by iconic artists of the movement, including Salvador Dalí, Alberto Giacometti, Man Ray, René Magritte, Victor Brauner, and others. The exhibition was a key event in bringing Surrealism to Scandinavia, showcasing the avant-garde movement's profound impact on the visual arts. This catalogue stands as both a historical document and a visual record of one of Surrealism's most influential exhibitions.
