It begins with a dis- cussion of some basic considerations in radio wave propagation. Chapters are then devoted to an analysis of different aspects of surface and space wave pro- pagation including the effects of ground reflection. The structure and proper- ties of the ionosphere and the ele- mentary theories of scatter propagation are also discussed. The theories of sky wave propagation, as caused by iono- spheric reflection, are specially treated as they are mainly responsible for long distance radio communication and broadcasting. Forty-one diagrams have been used to illustrate the text. References are given at the end of each chapter for further reading. The book is written in a lucid style. It will serve as a textbook for postgra- duate students in radio engineering. It will be useful as a work of reference to undergraduate students as well.
