Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'The Gospel of Divine Personality' explores the profound intersection of theology and philosophy, focusing specifically on the concept of God as a personal and relational being. Written by William Samuel Bishop, this work delves into the nature of the Divine, arguing for an understanding of the deity that transcends abstract metaphysical definitions in favor of a personalist perspective. Bishop examines how the personality of God serves as a foundational element of both Christian faith and human spiritual experience, offering an intellectual framework for understanding the relationship between the Creator and the created universe. …

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'The Theology of Personality' is a profound scholarly exploration of the philosophical and theological dimensions of personhood within the Christian tradition. Written by William Samuel Bishop, D.D., this work investigates how the concept of personality serves as a bridge between human experience and the divine nature. The author delves into the triune nature of God, examining the historical development of the Trinity and the essential characteristics that define a person in both a religious and an ethical context.Throughout the text, Bishop analyzes the relationship between the individual soul and the Creator, arguing that personality is not merely a psychological trait but a fundamental ontological category. By synthesizing classical theology with contemporary philosophical thought of the early twentieth century, the book offers a comprehensive defense of the personality of God and the inherent dignity of the human person. It remains a significant contribution to the study of systematic theology and Christian philosophy, providing insights into the metaphysical foundations of faith and the moral implications of divine-human interaction. This work is particularly valuable for students of religious history and those interested in the evolution of theological discourse. It challenges readers to consider the profound implications of viewing God through the lens of personal relationship and explores the impact of these doctrines on individual spiritual life and communal worship. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Bishop examines how the personality of God serves as a foundational element of both Christian faith and human spiritual experience, offering an intellectual framework for understanding the relationship between the Creator and the created universe.Throughout the text, the author navigates complex theological questions regarding the essence of the Trinity, the implications of the incarnation, and the moral attributes of God. By emphasizing the 'personal' aspect of the gospel message, Bishop seeks to provide clarity on how individual believers relate to a living, conscious, and communicative God. This scholarly yet accessible treatise represents a significant contribution to early 20th-century religious thought, reflecting a period of intense dialogue between traditional dogma and modern philosophical inquiry. 'The Gospel of Divine Personality' remains an insightful resource for students of systematic theology, religious history, and the philosophy of religion. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Lot of 40 titles from the Arno / New York Times Series The American Negro, His History and his literature. HEAVY Package - pickup can be arranged at our public storefront in downtown Manhattan. All told, the volumes are clean and well kept. From the home of a well regarded historian of Black studies. Also was a tobacco smoker, and that combined with age has led to occasional toning / darkening of the tan cloth part of these hardcover volumes - though without any consistency, it is present to some degree on nearly all. Faint odor as well, especially for those of sensitive nose, though to this seller it is not egregious. Besides that, the condition is pretty solid on all. Binding are all quite strong, sturdy, tight , square. No markings were found in any of the books, and no other damage to interiors at all. One volume has some fraying to the edge of the cloth of the front, and some of the volumes have lesser or greater degrees of rubbing, scuffing, dustsoiling, but all told clean beyond the toning. Uncommon to find so many in one place. Shipping will be extra ! pickup available in NYC. Writing after his appointment as Bishop of New York, Manning begins by stating that Bickersteth must be aware of 'the pressure' that he has been under 'during the past weeks', and this is the reason why his 'kind letter' has not been answered sooner. The appointment 'is a tremendous responsibility but with God's help I shall do my best. [.] The Consecration is to take place on May 11th.' and he is sure the Bickersteths will offer their prayers for him on that day. It will be 'a great comfort and strength' to him to know that he is 'remembered in your great Cathedral, the centre of our whole Communion and of our Mother Church of England'.…
