At this time, she closed the company due to lack of funds, and trained as a neonatal ICU nurse. As of 2019, Driver is working on a book about her family's genealogical history. ; "In 1906 Queen Alexandra and her sister the Dowager Empress Marie Feodorovna of Russia purchased Hvidore, a villa on the Danish coast, a private home. Until 1914 the sisters visited the property every autumn, entertaining friends and many royal relatives in an informal atmosphere. It was indeed a royal retreat. The first world war put an end to those happy times but in 1919, no exiled from Russia, the Dowager Empress made the vila her home and Hvidore became a court in exile. In 1920 she was joined by her younger daughter Olga and her family, who all lived at Hvidore, not always happily, until the Empress's death in 1928. A Royal Retreat tells the story of the purchase, renovation, the many royal visitors and finally the sale of this forgotten royal home. Magnificent original illustrations [are] from a private collection." ; FINE. Book.

In den WarenkorbDisbound. xviii, [1], 492 p.; 23 cm. Appendix 14: analysis of ownership of 76 Anti-Trinitarian chapels, p. 442-58. Presentation copy. `.in the Irish Toleration Act, which passed in 1719, the clause requiring Subscription was omitted, to the great scandal of the more zealous Churchmen, and in spite of their most strenuous exertio…ns. This foul stain on the otherwise admirable Toleration Act [of 1688], was suffered to remain until the year 1813, when those clauses were repealed by an Act.which silently passed through both houses of parliament without giving occasion to a division, or even a debate.' (p. v f.) -- `.so recently as 1817.in the Lady Hewley case, it was held by the Judges, and ruled by the Lords, that, without any inquiry into the fact, and even in direct contradition of the known fact, the law would assume that no endowment could possibly have been intended in favour of a form of worship [Anti-Trinitarian] which the law did not tolerate at the time of the endowment, and that this original defect was not cured by any subsequent legalisation of the same form of worship.' (p. vii) -- `The Committee [chaired by Mark Philips, M.P. for Manchester] considered it incumbent upon them to procure and lay before the public, the best possible report of the several Parliamentary debates upon this important Bill. With this view they had them taken in shorthand by Messrs. Gurney, and have spared no pains to secure their accuracy. They have gratefully to acknowledge to most of the speakers their kindness in assisting to correct the Report.' (p. xii) -- After passage in the House of Commons, the Lords voted 202 for and 41 against the measure, and the Royal Assent was given on July 19, 1844. (p. 390) Fair xl brown cloth. Covers loose, lacks spine. Bookblock sound.
