At the mint, located in the High Street area east of the present-day city cross, at least 24 million silver pennies were struck (possibly as many as 50 million). Five thousand five hundred specimens have survived in museums and collections around the world. These coins have been traced, photographed (approximately 3,200 coins in 6,400 images, both sides detailed), and meticulously catalogued by Yvonne Harvey for this book.
