A loose remake of the 1937 film, "Love is News" with Tyrone Power and Loretta Young, "Sweet Rosie O'Grady" finds Betty Grable in London, seeking to better herself as an artist, which in 1943 means landing a wealthy duke for a husband. But newspaperman Robert Young has other plans for her love life. Remade once more as a comedy in 1948, as "That Wonderful Urge," with Tyrone Power and Gene Tierney. Shot on location in California. 10 x 8 inches. Good, with profuse manuscript annotations to the verso and three to the recto, although not obscuring the image. Stamped to the verso.

Revised Final script for the 1950 film. Bound presentation script belonging to producer Sol C. Siegel with his name in gilt on the front board. With 53 studio still photographs tipped in throughout, four pages of retakes and added scenes tipped in at the rear, as well as a number of manuscript annotations, primarily denoting the titles of various musical numbers. Based on the short story "Stork Don't Bring Babies" by S.K. Lauren, Grable and Dailey play a showbiz couple who discover, in successive order, that they cannot have children, that they can adopt children, and that they aren't really fit to raise children. But things get better, with the help of several musical numbers scored by Harold Arlen. Bound in green faux leather boards with gilt titles and rule, and marbled endpapers. Title page present, dated Dec. 1, 1949, noted as Revised Final, with credits for screenwriters Trotti and Binyon. 191 leaves, with last page of text numbered 130. Before Sheree North, there was Betty Grable, the owner of the most beautiful legs in Hollywood, but both musical darlings star in this comedy about two dancing girls who hide at Bristol College while they attempt to locate the killer of a fellow performer. Marilyn Monroe was originally cast as "Curly" but refused the role, and Sheree North landed the part. Grable's final acting role. 8 x 10 inches. A hint of toning, and a tiny edge tear here and there, else Near Fine.

Elegant glossy head-and-shoulders portrait, a classy glamour pose inscribed large and bold in blue ballpoint in a light area at upper left "Best of Luck / to / Donald M. Burnell / Betty Grable / 3-1-60." ("Grable" crosses over into a dark area of her hair, with less contrast.) Not a pinup, but a knockout nonetheless! Rather scarce.
