Bernstein worked as a composer for film and television throughout the mid-to-late twentieth century, composing and conducting soundtracks for this film, as well as "The Ten Commandments" and , "The Magnificent Seven" (1960), "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962), "The Great Escape" (1963), "True Grit" (1969), "Ghostbusters" (1984), and many others. 8.25 x 10 inches. 200 : 250 mm. Hübsches Brustbild von vorn. Nach seiner Schulausbildung an der Walden School studierte Bernstein an der New York University. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg diente er bei dem US Army Air Corps. Seine Musikkarriere begann Bernstein als Komponist von Musik zu Radiosendungen und Dokumentarfilmen. 1950 zog er nach Hollywood und begann dort als Filmmusik-Komponist zu arbeiten.Sein erster vertonter Film war 1951 die US-amerikanische Produktion Ein Held für zwei Stunden. Im Jahr 1953 war er an dem 3D-Film Robot Monster beteiligt, in dem George Nader als Hauptdarsteller auftritt. Im selben Jahr entstand der ähnliche Film Cat-Women of the Moon. 1955 machte Bernstein mit Musik zur Western-Fernsehserie Rauchende Colts (Gunsmoke) auf sich aufmerksam und erhielt noch im gleichen Jahr den Auftrag für die Vertonung von Otto Premingers Drogen-Drama Der Mann mit dem goldenen Arm, der ein unerwarteter Erfolg für den bis dahin vornehmlich als Sänger in Erscheinung getretenen Frank Sinatra war. Diese Musik und auch die der nachfolgenden Produktionen wie Cecil B. DeMilles Die zehn Gebote (1956) und vor allem John Sturges' Die glorreichen Sieben (1960) gelten heute als Klassiker.Insgesamt umfasst sein Lebenswerk über 200 Werke, für die er 14 Mal für den Oscar nominiert wurde. Gewonnen hat er die begehrte Auszeichnung jedoch nur einmal: 1967 für das Musical Modern Millie Reicher Mann gesucht (Thoroughly Modern Millie).

Legendary modernist designers Charles and Ray Eames produced 125 short films between 1950 and 1982, using the medium as a vehicle for experimentation and education. The best-remembered of these, the 1968 and 1977 "Powers of Ten" films, were selected for preservation in the National Film Library in 1998. 22 x 8.5 inches unfolded, folded five times and measuring 3.75 x 8.5 inches when folded. Very Good, with silverfish damage along one fold and light creasing at the corners.
