Inhalt: Zweiteilige Liedersammlung mit religiösen Texten, ohne Noten mit Hinweis auf die Melodien, von weiland Doktor der Theologie und Superintendant in Burgdorf bei Celle, Carl Johann Philipp Spitta (* 1. August 1801 in Hannover; 28. September 1859 in Burgdorf) ein deutscher lutherischer Dichter- Theologe, er schrieb zahlreiche Kirchenliedtexte im Geist der lutherischen Erweckungsbewegung. Sie zeichnen sich durch Tiefe des Inhalts, Echtheit der Sprache und Sicherheit der Form aus. Viele davon sind bis heute lebendig. (Siehe auch Wikipedia). Zustand: Einband minimal berieben, Ecken und Kanten kaum bestoßen. Innen: Alte handschriftlich, dezente Widmungen auf dem Vorsatzblatt, einige Seiten an den Rändern minimal gebräunt, sonst wohl- gepflegt, sehr sauber und tadellos erhalten. Contains 23 12'' x 10'' corner mounted monochrome illustrations on good quality card stock. Perry Pictures was founded in 1897 and lasted probably to the mid-fifties. It's business was mostly mail order from a catalogue. The Perry Magazine was a marketing and communications vehicle from a company involved in schoolroom decoration and the picture study movement at the end of the nineteenth century. The magazine promoted the use of small, inexpensive, reproductions of fine art and contemporary photographs in lessons. Many of the articles in the Perry Magazine contained lessons about moral and ethical issues as well as art history and art appreciation. The content of the Perry Magazine was determined by the economic, social, and political issues of the day. Eugene and Ella met as school principals in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The story of their marriage and business is one of success as capitalist ventures. Having been teachers they understood what teachers needed. The Perry Magazine had a large influence on the introduction of art appreciation and art reproductions into the public school curriculum. Also contains a beautiful colour 'Certificate of Merit' card printed in Austria [probably by Ernest Nister], dated 1904-1906, with the recipients name 'Harry Blackman' as the receiver of the certificate and with his name inside the book.
