A fascinating series of essays, includes chapters on tribes, independent chiefs of East Arabia, Syria and Iraq includes Bell's observations on Palestine and Zionism. The author of Asiatic Turkey is shown as Gertrude Bell, however it is known that she is the author of all of the essays. This remains an important piece of writing from WW1 Printed by E.G. Pearson at The Times Press, Bombay. An elusive volume in good condition in its original form. The signature of previous owner dated "Amara May 20 1918" to ffep with laid in an original early photograph of a horse rider in Arab dress apparently dating from the 1918 period.
