Putnam's Sons in the USA in 1959. ***Very good in black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine. The boards are clean and unmarked. No bumps or creases. Corners sharp. Page block edges lightly foxed. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Internally also very good with no previous ownership inscriptions. Some foxing to the endpapers, but interior pages clean. No creases or tears. ***In a very good illustrated dustwrapper, designed by William Belcher. The dustwrapper has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's printed price of 21s net. Whilst the dustwrapper is virtually complete, there is some loss at the top of the spine, and quite a lot of creasing to the edges, mainly affecting the spine. A very small chip to the bottom edge of the back panel, and a light crease to the top corner of the front inner flap - but no serious tears or chips.
