He was a Fellow, American College of Radiology. He was the, or an, Editor of Atomic Medicine through its first five editions. Dr. King became a co-editor for this edition, was at the time of this publication was a Captain in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy (ret.). He was Professor and Chairman of the Division of Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology, Medical College of Virginia and formerly was the Chief of Radiology at the U.S> Naval Hospital at Bethesda, Maryland. The Preface to the Fourth Edition states, in part, "Aside from the radiological perils of nuclear warfare, there is an ever increasing concern and alarm along with much controversy about the fallout perils of nuclear testing and the dangers of clinical radiology". The changes in this fourth edition are preponderantly the results of advances in medical and research applicaitons of radioactive isotopes.
