Erste Ausgabe.- Gemeinfassliche Darstellung über den Zusammenhang zwischen Witterungserscheinungen und den Gesundheitsverhältnissen der Menschen aus der Sicht eines Meteorologen. Wilhelm Jakob van Bebber (1871-1909) wurde 1871 in Jena zum Dr. phil. promoviert und fand eine Anstellung an den höheren Schulen in Klebe und Kaiserslautern. 1875 ging er als Rektor der Realschule in Weissenburg nach Bayer, bis er 1879 zum Vorstand der Abteilung für Wettertelegraphie der Seewarte in Hamburg ernannt wurde. Er beschäftigte sich vor allem mit terreststischer Meterologie, Sturmwarnungen und Wetterprognosen. So untersuchte er wiederkehrende Wanderwege von Tiefdruckgebieten in europa, kategorisierte diese Großwetterlagen mit den römischen Zahlen IA bis VIb; dieses Bezeichungen werden teilweise noch heute verwendet.…
