Contemporary half calf over marbled boards with blind tooling to edge of leather at boards and gilt lettering, ruling and devices to spine; all edges and endpapers marbled. Sympathetically recased with the head and tail strengthened. Rubbing to binding. Minor marking/spotting internally, though generally quite clean. The aquatint views are engraved by William Daniell, fromd drawings by Samuel Davis. Also included is a geological plan and elevation of the island. Major-General Beatson was in 1816 late Governor of the island. 4to.
