Binding remains sound though the text block is shaken, with several signatures sta…rting. Endpages with archival mending to partial splits in the hinges. Contemporary pencil ownership inscription to the front flyleaf records purchase at Chicago's Newberry Hotel on April 13, 1903, as an Easter present. Damp staining extends through approximately the first 60 pages, with accompanying rippling affecting roughly the first 100 pages. Light shelf wear to the extremities. Profusely illustrated throughout with hundreds of wood-engraved text figures, diagrams, and instructional drawings. A wide-ranging manual of practical projects and outdoor pursuits including kites, boats, traps, camping, fishing, woodworking, electrical experiments, taxidermy, photography, athletics, and dozens of other turn-of-the-century recreations.
