With good signed handwritten letter (Potwell House headed notepaper) from the author tipped on the front endpaper, "Sept 21 '37 - Dear Sir, I found your letter on my return from abroad, I do not come to London much, but next time I am there I will ring you up at the club, and leave a message if you are not there, yours truly, J. B. Morton." Neat name on front endpaper and bookplate of Leslie Mead on the front pastedown. Slight foxing to preliminaries and slight nicking at spine ends, otherwise sound, close very good.
