The January 1894 issue includes a colored half-tone of The Last Load, Stieglitz's first photograph reproduced in color. In 1891, Alfred Stieglitz was listed as a contributing editor. In the March, 1894 issue he is listed as the Editor. Issues include technical and aesthetic essays, reviews, camera club announcements, hand-pulled photogravures and other illustrations. Publisher and place changes intermittently. In addition to The Last Load, the January issue includes an early self-portrait of Stieglitz as a young man.
