Hardcover no dust jacket. Publishers yellow cloth binding with black titles to spine and illustration of canoe to front board in good condition with some shelf wear to top & tail of spine and some rubbing to edges. Inside both hinges cracked exposing the webbing a little but binding still holding well. There is some intermittent foxing throughout, with some of the plates a little tatty. A reasonable copy of these observations of the natives of the region of the Fly estuary by the missionary the Rev E. Baxter Riley who was in the district for twenty-five years.
