Contains numerous b/w, and color photographic plates of Saturn's moons, feature nomenclature, and Gazeteer of Saturnian Satellites, index of Voyager pictures, history of missions, image processing, mapping, etc. Voyager 1 is a space probe launched by NASA on September 5, 1977. Part of the Voyager program to study the outer Solar System, Voyager 1 launched 16 days after its twin, Voyager 2. Having operated for 38 years, 3 months and 25 days, the spacecraft still communicates with the Deep Space Network to receive routine commands and return data. At a distance of 133 AU (1.99×1010 km) as of autumn 2015, it is the farthest spacecraft from Earth and the only one in interstellar space. Very good. No dust jacket. Cover has slight wear and soiling.
