Basilé, Gianventuti, Tubi hanno iniziato ad esporre intorno alla metà degli anni 90. Perfettamente integrati nel rinnovamento della scena italiana, sono cresciuti in un coacervo di stimoli e idee comuni. Come dice Marziani, teorico del connubio tra quadro e tecnologie digitali il computer determina una nuova prospettiva della ricerca. Il linguaggio elettronico corrisponde ad uno strumento che esprime l'adeguatezza dello sguardo coi suoi contenuti. Gli artisti lo considerano necesario e non a caso lo utilizzano fin dai primi lavori. Ricordano, se ancora ce ne fosse bisogno, che proprio il computer indica l'unica recente rivoluzione espressiva. Ma ci avvertono di contro, che l'artista deve eliminarne gli effetti gratuiti, rendendolo un mezzo della profondità, della memoria e dell'intelligenza mentale [.] Il Quadro digitale, ricordiamolo, non soppianta nulla dei vecchi linguaggi. Al contrario attraversa il disegno, la pittura, la fotografia, il video con la sua capacità manipolatoria e stratificata. Crea qualcosa che assembla le differenze attraverso nuove prospettive, visioni alterate, invenzioni finora impensabili, sconfinamenti necessari".
