Other titles previous to this book include THE CHICKEN-WAGON FAMILY (1925) and SHORT TURNS (1926). He also wrote VALIANT IS THE WORD FOR CARRIE (1935) which was made into a motion picture. BUGLES IN THE NIGHT is set in the country of NLorth Louisiana in the town of Crebillon and includes dialogue in dialect.
