Clean pages and illustrations with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpaper, pastedowns, title page and last page textblock. Front free endpaper is… missing. Illustration opposite page 131 is detached but still present. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is bright and clear. Visible wear marks to boards.

Spine and corners bumped and worn. Tape repairs/reinforcements to edges of covers (tape folded over onto pastedowns inside). Small booksellers sticker to front pastedown. Old tape mark to front free-endpaper. Inscription in ink to verso of front free-endpaper. Grubby fingermarks to some page margins. Light foxing to textblock and some page browning.
