Nearly four hundred works of art are reproduced, giving a panoramic view of the challenging, sometimes contradictory but always provocative art of the twentieth century. This medium-sized hard cover book (7 ¾ x 10 ¼ inches, 328 pages) was published by the MOMA dated 1948 and a limited (albeit not as limited as usual 15,000 compared to 2500) First Edition. The book is bound in matte black boards with gray and yellow titles on cover and spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. There are 380 b&w plates. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some wear including a one-inch chip out of the top of the spine and additional edge wear. The hard covers are clean and bright with some very light bumping to the corners and spine tips. Inside the book is unmarked and the pages are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
