A tight and nice first edition of the first volume (only) of this remarkable trilogy -- an unusual scholarly endeavor to account for every single day of Lincoln's 56 years. This special copy has been extra-illustrated in the form of a Typed Letter Signed from editor-in-chief Miers tipped to front flyleaf: 1p, 8½" X 11", Edison, NJ, 13 January 1958. Addressed to Arnold Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar). Very good. Miers (1910-72) authored and edited a large number of popular books, mainly about the Civil War and Abraham Lincoln.
