[viii], 213pp., 8 black and white plates and a coloured folding map of Tunisia. Copies of the original paper covers are bound in at the start and end of the book. 'The Ibis' was the Quarterly Journal of Ornithology, edited by William Lutley Sclater (1829-1913), an English lawyer and zoologist. In zoology, he was an expert ornithologist, and identified the main zoogeographic regions of the world. This volume consists of a Supplementary Number of the Journal from 1927 (twelfth series, vilume III). It is a report on the birds collected and observed during the British Museum Expedition to Tunisia in 1925. The book is bound in brown cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription.

A nice first edition of Bannerman's account of his is camping expeditions. He explores the islands' unique geology, flora, fauna with a particular focus on birds and the effect of isolation on the evolution of several species.
