Veterinary doctor's ownership signature in ink on the front free endpaper as well as another pencilled vintage ownership signature and a Philadelphia address also on the ffep. The undated first edition of this oft-reprinted work was published in 1887; the edition can be determined by the list of the publiher's other titles at the rear--for example, Courtenay's "The Practice of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery" was first published in 1887, the third edition of "Strangeways' Veterinary Anatomy" in 1886; no titles/editions in the list were published later than 1887.…
