To assemble this work, the author scoured archives, private collections, inventories of distributors or makers or renters, storage vaults, junk shops, etc. The second major source of information was the trade journals of the time which describe the production, distribution and nature of the films at the time theyw ere made and released. The third method was tracing people who were directly ot indirectly involvd eith the films themselves---actors and actresses, directors, camramen, etc.
