Frank Brown, Ed.D.Valkaria Tropical Garden, 1994. Hardcover.Scarce specialized horticultural reference devoted to Cordyline, commonly known as the Ti plant. Published in 1994, this extensively illustrated volume was an important early reference devoted specifically to cordylines and their numerous cultivated varieties. The book contains approximately 250 color photographs illustrating the remarkable range of Cordyline foliage forms and coloration, together with historical and cultural information and descriptions of numerous varieties. Contemporary bibliographic sources record the volume as 105 pages.Author B. Frank Brown became particularly associated with the study and cultivation of cordylines and other tropical foliage plants in Florida. Edison and Ford Winter Estates describes Brown as a leading authority on cordylines and notes that he established Valkaria Tropical Gardens near Melbourne, Florida in 1988.An attractive and increasingly difficult-to-find reference for collectors and growers of Cordyline, Ti plants, tropical foliage, Hawaiian and Pacific plants, and Florida horticulture. Very good overall. Hardcover shows light shelf/handling wear and minor surface marks/soiling. Color photographic cover remains bright and attractive. Rear cover photograph is likewise clean and vivid. Please see photographs for exterior condition. …
