Einband leicht berieben. - Hajiabad is a village between Darab and Lar in the province of Fars, Iran. The excavation in 1978 of a site close to this village and a survey of the surrounding areas enabled the present writer to identify an interesting settlement pattern, comprising a town, religious buildings, fortifications, hamlets, and an irrigation system. Of the two religious structures, sites 17-18, one (site 17), is already discussed in a different article. The second structure (site 18) is the subject of the present discussion. Structures 17 and 18 were both built in the close vicinity of a small town (sites 20-21). Remains of this town are scattered at the western extremity of the plain surrounding Cah-e Sabz, a modern hamlet at the northeast of Hajiabad. The northern and western flanks of the town were protected by Siyâh-Kûh. Structure 18 was erected on one of the low spurs of this mountain's eastern slope.
