First edition thus. Original gray end pages with the front end page showing the original owner's data, lightly written in pencil: "Lawrence Finn's - Franklin, KY July 22, 1853". Hinges are secure at both boards, only binding issue is at page 168/169, where the spine is pulled because the book was opened too far. Foxing noted throughout with some areas heavy, small dampstains also noted. Dedication page has the upper right corner torn out. No other torn pages, no other handwriting found.
