Loosely inserted postcard addressed from 37 Langton Way, London S.E.3. from Fuller to Eric and Joan Stevens, 2 Prospect Road, N.W.2. requesting the Ackerley book 'Prisoners of War from their catalogue. Two Eric and Joan Stevens invoices loosely inserted dated 9.2.77 and 21.11.83. with notes from Fuller. One says 'Many thanks to you - I am not a collector but am delighted to have these, books of old friends never before possessed. Quite touched this morning, opening them.! RF.' The other says he is glad to have 'the nice items.' Also included a typed envelope addressed to Fuller at the above address and a typed signed letter from Tony [Curtis?] at the Financial Times dated 16 March, 1976 and consisting of about 40 words saying he is glad Fuller will do the Julian Grenfell piece, 'about 650 words by March 29th', this and further sheets of paper, one folding, include copious notes in Fuller's hand, mostly in pencil some of which concern Julian Grenfell and John Bayley. Other newspaper cuttings loosely inserted relating to Roy Fuller, including reviews and obituaries loosely inserted. Roy Fuller (1912 Ð 1991) poet and novelist, was solicitor for the Woolwich Equitable Building Society and the prestigious Professor of Poetry chair at Oxford. Joan Stevens the feminist bookseller and expert on John Cowper Powys and Edward Thomas died in 2015.Very good. Very good.
