Auguste Haussmann (Winterzenheim 1815 - Alger-Mustapha 1874) diplomate, fut nommé consul de France au Cap de Bonne-Espérance où il recueillit des traditions, encore vivantes alors, auprès des descendants des huguenots français partis s'installer au Cap après la révocation de l'Edit de Nantes. Les pages 1 à 134 contiennent une excellente description du Cap ; les pages 135 à 343 renferment un grand nombre de renseignements historiques [1652-1862], avec des considérations sur les produits et le commerce de la colonie. | [ENGLISH DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS] First edition (cf. Auguste Haussmann (Winterzenheim 1815 Alger-Mustapha 1874), a diplomat, was appointed French consul at the Cape of Good Hope, where he collected traditions still current among the descendants of the French Huguenots who had settled at the Cape after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
