Modern owner label on the front pastedown as well as the stylized contemporary owner name of A. H. Hope of Shrewsbury , New Jersey. Hope has drawn a view and a diagram of "The Shack" (his lake house) on the front fly and a motor boat on the rear fly. (Hope has also underlined one two-line passage in ink.) Page edges foxed, endleaves tanned with foxing and heavy darkening from binder's glue, a near very good copy lacking the dust jacket. A charming and informative book with a couple of additional charming illustrations.
