Elle est identique à l'édition de 1612 d'Artus Thomas d'Embry, la première à contenir des gravures et à offrir les quatre derniers textes. Elle est illustrée d'un grand plan dépliant de Constantinople, d'une double planche légendée «Portraict de l'Armée de l'Empereur Turc rangée en Bataille», de 17planches pour les tableaux prophétiques, de 62 gravures pleine page représentant les différents habitants de l'Empire ottoman (hommes et femmes) et de 27planches de portraits de personnalités turques. Titre-frontispice répété. Pages de titre en rouge et noir. Reliures de l'époque en plein veau brun, légèrement dissemblables, dos à six nerfs ornés de fleurons et caissons dorés. Cette importante somme collective se décompose comme suit: Tome I: Histoire des Turcs par Chalcondyle Athénien, traduite par Thomas Artus et Blaise de Vigenère Tome II: suite et fin de l'Histoire des Turcs par François-Eudes Mezeray Histoire générale du Serrail par Michel Baudier Les Annales des Sultans Plusieurs descriptions des accoustremens des Turcs Tableaux prophétiques des Empereurs Sévère et Léon par Artus Thomas Illustrations de Blaise de Vigenère bourbonnois, sur l'Histoire de Chalcondile athénien * Chalcondyle l'Athénien (ca. 1423-ca. 1490), historien grec et secrétaire de Mourad II, se réfugia à Constantinople. Son Histoire des Turcs fut rédigée après la prise de la ville en 1453 et couvre la période 1298 à 1463, décrivant la chute de l'Empire romain d'Orient et la prospérité de l'Empire ottoman. Près de cent ans plus tard, le traducteur Blaise de Vigenère (1523-1596) souligne l'originalité de l'uvre et du style, qui relate d'une manière inhabituelle l'histoire ottomane.
