Volume 1 published 1917, edition 275, this one numbered 107, etching frontispiece "Pair of Ducks". Volume 2 published 1919, edition 275, this one numbered 89, etching frontispiece "Frontispiece Volume Two (Two Geese)". Volume 3 published 1923, edition 525, this one numbered 345, etching frontispiece "Frontispiece Volume Three (flying ducks)". Volume 4 published 1929, edition 600, this one numbered 348, etching frontispiece "Flying Pintail." Volume 5 published 1959, edition 400, this one numbered 353, etching frontispiece "Grouse on a Pine Bough." This is the original fully illustrated catalogue raisonne of the Frank Benson's graphic work. Provenienz: The Print Connoisseur. A Quarterly Magazine for the Print Collector. Zustand: Rückseitig stellenweise schwach stockfleckig. Vorderseitig ist davon auf der Radierung lediglich an einer Stelle ein ganz schwacher Schimmer zu sehen. Condition: On the reverse side weakly foxed in places. On the front side only a very faint shimmer can be seen on the etching. - Arthur William Heintzelman: A highly esteemed American etcher of the early twentieth century. Heintzelman first studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. He then went to Europe for several years and completed his education in Holland, France, Belgium, Spain, England and Scotland. Upon returning to the United States, Heintzelman accepted the position of Head of the Fine Arts Department at the Detroit School of Design for a period of four years. Heintzelman created his first original etching in 1915. During the following three years he created more than fifty more, but many were to his dissatisfaction and he often destroyed his plates after only two or three impressions. After the conclusion of World War One, Heintzelman returned to Paris on a permanent basis. It was from this point on that his greatest etchings and drypoint engravings were made. Within several years his art was featured in major exhibitions throughout the United States, England and France. Arthur Heintzelman was a full member of the Chicago Society of Etchers, the California Society of Etchers, the American Federation of Arts, the Societe Gravure Originale en Noir and the Associee Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts, in Paris. His original etchings are included in such major museums as the Metropolitan Museum, NY, the Chicago Art Institute, the Los Angeles County Museum, the Bilbliotheque Nationale, Paris, and the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum, London. 0 Gramm.…
