He discusses the question, giving the numbers of the postal orders, and writes: 'The postmaster tells me that, as the Orders were cr…ossed, the G. P. O. will (unless by any chance the Orders have been cashed) repay the £1. 4. 6 in about 3 months' time, to me; conditionally on my returning the money, if the Orders are afterwards found.' He is would be sorry if Dobell were kept waiting for three months for his £1 4s 6d, 'but for the present, I can only tell you what I have heard, and await further Communication from you.'
