Al plato fuerte de esta antología de textos olvidados de Nicasio Landa le acompañan otros no menos sorprendentes que van desde el sutil prólogo de la primera edición española de las Historias extraordinarias de Edgar Allan Poe (1858), hasta su defensa en el Instituto de Derecho Internacional de Gante (Bélgica) de una Convención Sanitaria Internacional para el comercio exterior (1888), pasando por su cuestionamiento del origen de las epidemias (1864) o la versión original (inédita desde 1870) de Una visión en la niebla: los guerreros euskaldunacs, entre otros. Una variedad de textos que, junto al estudio introductorio de Guillermo Sánchez y Jon Arrizabalaga, nos presentan un Nicasio Landa desconocido: cientificista, católico, liberal, cosmopolita y apegado a su tierra, humanitario y euskaltzale.
