Zustand: New. KlappentextAuthor, poet, and motivational speaker Arnold seeks to affirm to men how valuable they are to the development of their children and to the world at large.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Author, poet, and motivational speaker Lena Arnold was compelled to write this book after viewing a talk show where a male guest, convinced of his own unimportance stated, 'Everyday my mother told me she didn't need a man to raise me. I turned out fine without my father and my son will be fine without me!' In this compelling poetic treatise, the author seeks to affirm to men how valuable they are to the development to their children and to the world at large. In an age where women can go to other women for strength, sex, and sustenance, it is understandable that men can become disillusioned and confused concerning their place in the earth. But contrary to what messages the world has sent, men are needed for our nourishment, they are important to our growth, and that they are valuable to our development. For without the presence of strong, competent and loving men- hearts are broken and love often dies.…

Zustand: New. KlappentextArnold offers poetry and prose to encourage, enlighten, and entertain Americans of African descent.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Poetry and prose to encourage, enlighten, and entertain Americans of African descent. The term African-American to me implies that we are a people whose original home was Africa, i.e. we are recent immigrants from her hallowed shores. The implication therefore is this: that we are secondary U.S. citizens. In reality we are descended from a people whose original home was Africa. The journey from freedom to bondage, to freedom again changed us. The rape and miscegenation mixed our blood with many of slavery's willing participants from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. We used to think of our blood as tainted, and indeed, there are many people who still feel that way. That feeling has divided us.and it's too bad because.we are Americans first.and if you are an American of African descent, a descendant of the people, most of whom, were brought here by force, then you are in everyone and everyone is in you! This is your poetry. This is the voice of a motherless and fatherless child. This is the STRONG voice of a lost one now found. Now grab this strong cup of black coffee, drink it up, and let it strengthen your soul.…

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - The assumption is that if a woman or man cannot have children; it must not only be God's will, but true evidence of God's wrath in action. In For This Child We Prayed: Living with the Secret Shame of Infertility, Lena Arnold dispels this horrendous misconception through personal insight, and reflection. In her struggle to have children, she invites us to journey with her. It is a tremendous journey, which takes us through the heartache of a crying, barren womb to sitting with Hannah in the scriptures as she bargains with God for a child.to the man at the pool of Bethesda who experienced the miracle of Christ's healing.to her own personal thoughts as she writes to her future children like Celie wrote to Nettie in Alice Walker's book 'The Color Purple.' Anyone who has a promise or a dream can benefit from For This Child We Prayed, it teaches you that faith can help you wait as you believe, no matter how long it takes.…
