Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - This book gives us conclusive proof, of the SOUND of the sacred name of God. No more guessing, speculating, conjecture, or assumptions, just facts. You may be surprised to find out that his name has been hidden in plain sight. Once we've found the SOUND of his name, we've actually found his name, because a name is a SOUND and then we can share the SOUND/name with others. Some things are hidden in simplicity. Hallelujah My name is Arnold Bowen, I'm a country boy from Conyers, GA. About 45 years ago I was on my way to Atlanta to get a shot of dope when God had mercy on me. I now preach and teach his word without fear or favor of man. I do not take any money, nor will I make any money off this book. You can find me on Youtube at Brother Arnold Bowen or check out my website at Lunarsabbath.info.…

In den WarenkorbSee his entry, and that of his brother, in the Oxford DNB. The recipient Clifford Musgrave (d.1993), Borough Librarian, was instrumental in the saving and renovation of the Brighton Pavilion. Both items in good condition, lightly aged. Both written in an elegant close calligraphic hand. The first is misaddressed to 'Mr Muspratt', and the second to 'Mr. Musgrave'. Both signed 'Clifford Bax'. ONE (14 February 1945): 2pp, 16mo. Nineteen lines. Regarding the arrangements for a lecture he is going to give, he has been asked by 'Eric' to communicate with him about his 'Brighton visit'. As the letter of 'Eric' was 'hurried and ambiguous', he asks whether he has arranged for the actress and model 'Miss Meum Steuart [sic]' to stay at the 'Old Ship', or at 'the Albion (if it has been reopened)'. He understands that 'Eric' will be joining them at their 'little supper-party at the Ship after the lecture'. There is a possibility that 'Mr. Leon M. Lion, whom you probably know through Eric', will be joining them. He thinks he has addressed him by his 'true name (it is quite familiar to me)', although he is in his address book as Clifford Musgrave. TWO (24 February 1945): 1p, 12mo. Seventeen lines. Begins: 'Dear Mr. Musgrave, / I did enjoy my brief visit to Brighton . . . . that place of such happy memories for me. In 1935 I all-but took a flat no the sea-front: and as very small children we spent several holidays at a boarding-house in the Old Steyne. What is more, I have always enjoyed the Pavilion because it speaks of a determination to make life gay.' In addition, Musgrave himself 'came up to expectation. Indeed, Miss Stewart and I when we were in the train lamented our poor chance of cultivating sombody so much to our liking'. Furthermore, Bax 'met' Musgrave 'this morning in the correspondence columns of the Lit: Supp: - a charming surprise'. In a postscript he expresses relief that the gout with which he is at present inflicted 'postponed its visit till after my talk at Brighton!'.…

In den Warenkorb4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In fair condition, on lightly aged and worn paper. Arnold, whose conversion to Roman Catholicism hindered his academic dvancement in England, was grandfather of the writer Aldous Huxley, and taught James Joyce at Dublin. At the time of writing he was running a private tutoring establishment at Oxford. He begins the letter by explaining that it has hardly been possible to reply to Hutchinson 'during term time [.] I had so much work on my hands'. He is returning 'Canon Bright's letter', and has 'not had time to look at the treatises on Perseverance and Predestination'. He has however 'read some way into the Epistle to Sixtus, and can find in it nothing like a denial of free will on human merit, though this last also he ascribes to an effect of the divine grace. Why some are saved and others lost, he cannot tell; he calls the whole subject a "difficillima quaestio" [.]'. He continues with a number of Latin quotations (including one from a letter to Abbot Valentine of Adrumetum), noting that 'St Austin' was 'misunderstood in his own day as he often is in ours'. He continues: 'With such passages as these to enlighten one as to the Saint's real meaning, may one not well feel reluctant, unless a whole string of predestinarian (in the bad sense) passages were adduced from his writings, to admit that he fell into, or countenanced, error?' He ends with a discussion of 'the good works of the heathen'. Cf. Bernard Bergonzi, A Victorian Wanderer The Life of Thomas Arnold the Younger. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2003.…
