Zustand: Very Good+. 1st Edition. 2 blue cloth, 1 black cloth, 1 brown cloth, all with gilt spine lettering; all pristine but all top text-block edges have dense tanning flecks. all with numerous monochrome ills of various kinds and size up to full page plates. Paginations range from 198 to 282, all internally clean, tight and unmarked. Top edge tanning only reason for VG+ rather than Fine rating. All jackets clean and unmarked but 3 slightly affected by corner rubbing, edge rubbing and edge nicks, the other Near Fine but for slight outer corner rubbing. Text block clean, overall in very good condition, the dust jacket in fair condition. . Rudolph Arnheim (1904-2007) was a German-born film and art theorist, Gestalt psychologist, author and professor. Originally published as 'Film als Kunst' in Berlin in 1932, the book was banned by the Nazi party and Arnheim left the country and eventually settled in the USA in 1940.
