The Greek jurist, diplomat, historian of Chios, lawyer and bibliophile author (1891-1974) was a descendant of one Lorenzo Argenti, who after having participated in the first Crusade (1096-1099) settled in Constantinople. The Argenti family lived in Chios from 1511 onwards. He founded and provided the Korais library in Chios.
