Aramco introduced Operational Calendars in the 1950s. They highlighted weekends, holidays, rescheduled days off, and Ramadan ("tentative"). They also focused on a specific safety topic each month, with a schedule of Preventive Maintenance Weeks. They were posted in work spaces along with flyers and posters relating to each of the monthly topics by Aramco's recently created Loss Prevention Department. This one combines the calendar for Jan-Dec 1978 with the Islamic calendar for 22 Muharram 1398 to 2 Safar 1399, in English and phonetic Arabic. The topics here are Inspection, Job Planning (Jan), Fire Prevention (Feb), Good Housekeeping on the Job (Mar), Occupational Hazards (Apr), Electrical Hazards (May), Home and Recreation Safety (Jun), Hot Weather Hazards and Protection (Jul), Health and Hygiene (Aug), Chemicals and Gases (Sep), Personal Protective Equipment (Oct), Hand Tools (Nov), and Driver Safety (Dec). A rare survivor. (Reference: Saudi Aramco (2020), "Saudi Aramco and the Art of Safety").…
