Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Cloth bound volumes. Uncut pages, Portraits offset to either next page or previous page. Some minor soiling to the boards. Tanning and light foxing. Vol 1 276pp Vol 2 267pp. The Memoirs of Count Grammont is a witty narrative of Philibert, Count de Gramont (1621-1707), a French nobleman whose exile brought him to the glittering, intrigue?filled court of Charles II. Although presented as "memoirs," the book was written by Anthony Hamilton (c.1646-1720), Gramont's brother?in?law, who shaped the Count's anecdotes into a literary portrait of Restoration court life. The memoirs follow Gramont's adventures in France, Turin, and England, focusing on court politics, love affairs, duels, gossip, and social manoeuvring. They remain one of the most vivid literary windows into the Restoration era.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Published under the auspices of both IUPAC and its affiliated body, the International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics (IACT), this book will serve as a guide to scientists or technicians who use equations of state for fluids. Concentrating on the application of theory, the practical use of each type of equation is discussed and the strengths and weaknesses of each are addressed. It includes material on the equations of state for chemically reacting and non-equilibrium fluids which have undergone significant developments and brings up to date the equations of state for fluids and fluid mixtures. Applied Thermodynamics of Fluids addresses the needs of practitioners within academia, government and industry by assembling an international team of distinguished experts to provide each chapter. The topics presented in the book are important to the energy business, particularly the hydrocarbon economy and the development of new power sources and are also significant for the application of liquid crystals and ionic liquids to commercial products. This reference will be useful for post graduate researchers in the fields of chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry and physics.

From the library of Michael Lilienthal with his engraved bookplate. 19,5 x 12,5 cm. *Interesting collection of ten english tracts printed 1712-1714, some of them relating to The Deist Controversy and several of them rare. Philosopher Anthony Collins (1676-1729) was a friend of John Locke and his influential Discourse of Freethinking is here in it's first edition, the repaired title page should be noted, but is neatly done and in a contemporary hand. The work of antiquary John Pointer (1668-1754) on the Roman pavement in Stonesfield, with the plate depicting Bacchus, is of importance as the pavement was destroyed already in 1724. Bookseller and author of many curious titles John Dunton (1659-1733) is perhaps best known as founder of The Athenian Society in 1691 and as publisher of the periodical The Athenian Mercury. Michael Lilienthal (1686-1750) was a german theologian, librarian, numismatist, publicist, and professor at the university of Rostock. His bookplate in this sammelband bears also the signature of his son Theodor Christoph Lilienthal (1717-1781). [#\139952].
