Cm. 21,5, pp. xvi, 288. Leg. coeva in semplice carta colorata d'attesa con titoli ms. al dorso. Pochi segni d'uso, peraltro esemplare genuino, marginoso e ben conservato. Ristampa ottocentesca di questo celebre testo il cui originale risale al 1617.

Zustand: Ottimo. In-8° (cm. 20,3), legatura coeva in mezza pergamena con titolo in oro su tassello verde al dorso; pp. XVI 288 in barbe, in ottimo stato. Ristampa ottocentesca di questo trattato del noto letterato genovese volto a illustrare e formare le virtù civiche di sentimento del bene comune e di partecipazione alla vita pubblica, dato in luce per la prima volta nel 1617. Ottimo esemplare. (SL4).…

Cm. 14,7, pp. 264 (2). Marchio tipografico al frontespizio. Legatura in pergamena rigida d'epoca posteriore con titoli su tassello al dorso. Qualche gora marginale, ma complessivamente copia in buono stato di conservazione. L'originale risale al 1617. Cfr. Piantanida e Gamba.

In 16 (cm 10 x 15,5), pp. 264. Vignetta xilografica al frontespizio raffigurante due stadere. Legatura coeva in piena pergamena. Seconda edizione (edizione originale Genova, 1617, con titolo diverso "Il cittadino di republica. alla valorosa gioventu' genovese") di quest'opera di AnsaldoÂCeba'Â(1565-1623) sul cittadino ideale ristampata anche nel corso dell'Ottocento. L'A.Âavverte che la sua trattazione e' rivolta a qualunque cittadino "o povero o ricco, favorito od oltraggiato, o piccolo o grande che sia" anche se poi, scorrendo le pagine, si capisce che il cittadino presupposto dal Ceba' appartiene a un ceto privilegiato. "Dovra' infatti essere filosofo, prudente, forte, giusto, temperato, clemente, stimabile, verace, piacevole nonche' provvisto di quelleÂdoti di istruzione, potenza, magnificenza, liberalita', magnanimita', nobilta' che sono unicamente appannaggioÂdei ceti elevati. Altrimenti, come potrebbe, il cittadino previsto dal Ceba', 'peregrinare sei anni per avere esperienza de' governi pacifici e de' militari', astenersiÂdal 'trattar molto con gli ambasciatori de ' Principi forestieri'. Ma questo e' un breviario per un ideale cittadino destinato ad attingere le alte cariche dello stato! Dismemorandosi di averÂdedicato il suo trattato anche a un individuo povero, oltraggiato e piccolo, il Ceba' scopre la vera essenza del personaggio che ha dinanzi agli occhi. delineando la figuraÂdi un 'grande' , o un futuro grande" (Rodolfo De Mattei, "Studi in memoria di Carlo Esposito", vol. 4, 1974, p. 2349.).
