A compact late nineteenth-century work on comparative religion, reflecting Victorian interest in the study of world faiths and religious thought. This copy is complete in 125 pages and remains in very good condition for its age. The original red cloth binding shows expected shelf-wear, rubbing, bumps and marks, particularly to the boards, corners and spine, but the book remains firm, square and attractive. There is an ink ownership inscription on the front endpaper. Internally, the pages are notably clean, with a clear and readable text block. A pleasing and collectible first edition.

"In this Stirring Story of Adventure, written by one of 'Pluck's' most popular authors, we have a picture of the great racial bitterness which the whites of the Southern States feel for the black men. However, this feeling is not shared by all the American people, because in many cities in the United States some of the most enlightened and energetic citizens are negroes, living in peace and friendship with the whites.
