Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st Edition. Uncommon edition containing the letters and journals of Anne Thackeray Ritchie, daughter of William Makepeace Thackery, containing a great portrait of the thriving literary milieu of the moment, particularly of the place of a young woman within Victorian English society and literature. With detailed biographical commentary. Excellent overall condition hardcover in pictorical jacket. Binding is solid and strong. Boards are clean and firm in gray cloth. Dustjacket is very bright and attractive, with the only detriment being a small area where the silver gloss is scuffed away revealing the paper underneath on the front panel and a teeny puncture at back panel. Teeny closed tear and very light wear at the edges besides, and one very small scratch at the letter "m" in Burnham on the front. Now in brordart. Interior is spotless, bright, clean, appearing scarcely opened.

In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Fair. No Jacket. The Biographical Edition of The Works of William Makepeace Thackery, with biographical introductions by his daughter, Anne Ritchie. 13 x books in total, Volumes i-XIII, inclusive, all books bound in red cloth, with gilt titles on the spine, gilt emblem and A.R. initials in gilt on front board, (the initials are probably Thackery's daughter's initials Anne Ritchie.) All books are used, some of the bindings are slightly faded, and some of the corners slightly bumped, overall all books are in okay condition and as they are old, used books, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Considering these books are over 120 years old and with hand cut pages, you would expect some ageing and wear. There is the odd brown mark and some of the tissue has come away from the binding. The published dates range from 1900 to 1902. Please note postage/shipping may increase in price from listed postage/shipping price dependant on final destination. Its a nice collection of the works of William Makepeace Thackery, with a host of nice illustrations, Woodcuts, Portraits, Letters, Drawings and wonderful stories.
