The boards are a little shelf rubbed, slightly faded marks and a touch edge worn. Internally the pages are clean and complete. The text is legible. The binding is excellent. GK. Pencil inscription and redacted sticker to front pastedown and endpaper. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Clipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges.

Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Some cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding slightly loose. Boards have moderate shelf wear with some rubbing, fraying and corner bumping. Some moderate sunning and tanning, particularly to spine.

Green fabric on board covers with black titles to front and spine, edges rubbed, light fading. 83 numbered thick pages with b/w photo illustrations, previous owners name to inside front cover, sporadic foxing. Binding loose with some sellotape repairs but holding together. Size 14.5 x 20.5 cm.

Zustand: Good. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. First Edition. No dust jacket. Signed and dedicated to artist Nina Carroll, dated 1935, with neat colouring by her to three of the plates! Boards are slightly scuffed and marked. Corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed, including fraying and tears. Page block is tanned. Light foxing to the pastedowns, endpapers and a few of the pages, with surface tears to the pastedowns, and tears to a few of the page edges. Hinge break at rear board, however binding remains sound and pages are otherwise clear. LW. Used.
