The present volume, published on the occasion of the museum's 50th anniversary, consists of 47 scholarly contributions on Indian art and archaeology by a constellation of international scholars (x, 410 pp., 26 col. plates tipped in, followed by 594 b&w photos in 178 unnumbered pp., with 32 pp. rear section of advertisements, including additional 14 tipped in col. plates.)
