Scientific archaeological work, divided into two main parts dealing with ancient Greek pottery finds from Corinth. The first part, written by Darrell A. Amyx, catalogues and discusses more than 200 fragments of Corinthian pottery with figurative decoration from the Archaic period. It highlights various vase painters and helps in understanding the development of the Corinthian style. The second, written by Patricia Lawrence, analyzes the contents of a specific well from the Archaic period that was filled with pottery. This includes a large quantity of finds from a potter's refuse dump, ranging from Early Proto-Corinthian to Late Corinthian. It greatly assists archaeologists in establishing the chronology and the development of forms of typical vases such as oinochoai (pourers) and kotylai (drinking cups).

It consists of specific contributions regarding the style, characteristics, and attributions of vase makers. The first volume, written by D.A. Amyx, serves as a supplement to Amyx's earlier, famous standard work "Corinthian Vase-Painting of the Archaic Period." It contains a catalog of Corinthian vases and fragments discovered after the deadline (1969) of the earlier work or which, for other reasons, had not been previously published. Part 2, written by Patricia Lawrence, focuses in depth on specific maker groups, including the Chimaera Group and the Dodwellians in the pottery district of Corinth, re-analyzing new fragments and previous finds.
