In den WarenkorbFolio (34 x 24 cm.). pp.46. Original colour pictorial wrappers by A. Tappa. 21 full page maps of Italy and its regions, 19 by Nicouline and two additional maps of "Italy in 1945" by Alulli and Milani and "Italy in 1950" by Tappa and Alulli. Light rubbing and toning to wrappers, generally a very good clean copy. An interesting reissue of the larger format Imago Italiae deluxe atlas of 1941 with 19 maps by Vesvoldo Nicouline, reduced here with two additional general maps of the whole country showing the devastation in 1945 and the reconstruction "thanks" to the Americans in 1945. The text entirely rewritten The E.R.P.was the European Recovery Program, more commonly referred to as the Marshall Plan, enacted in 1948, whereby the United States transferred large amounts of money for the benefit of European countries devastated by the Second World War. Clearly it was at least partly motivated by a desire to gain influence in Europe and was rejected by the USSR. A note to the verso of the half title states that this is "Dono della Missione Americana per l'E.R.P. in Italia" i.e Gift of the American Mission for the E.R.P. in Italy.
