El conjunto de contribuciones que aquí se presentan es un producto abierto, imperfecto, de un grupo de autores españoles que desde la semiperiferia profunda de la sociología europea una semiperiferia, dicho sea de paso, no muy bien predispuesta a recibir la obra de Bourdieu como otra cosa que no fuera una mercancía segura valorada por la galaxia sociológica internacional, han movilizado un buen conjunto de recursos sociales hasta llegar a un círculo central de los autores franceses herederos directos del acervo sociológico del propio Bourdieu, con un solo propósito: hacer su obra sea un útil de primera línea para el estudio de lo social. Una máquina de formular preguntas y de desvelar estrategias de dominación material y simbólica, abriendo el campo a las prácticas menos legitimadas desde todos los poderes. En suma, un libro para romper con toda la violencia simbólica de las lecturas esclerotizadas de Bourdieu y de los repertorios sagrados que, dando por predeterminado el sentido de su trabajo sociológico, impiden construir su conocimiento concreto. LUIS ENRIQUE ALONSO. Catedrático de Sociología en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Especializado en sociología económica y del consumo, así como en temas de investigación social cualitativa. Sus tres últimos libros en solitario son: La mirada cualitativa en sociología (Fundamentos, Madrid, 1998); Trabajo y ciudadanía: estudios sobre la crisis de la sociedad salarial (Trotta, Madrid, 1999) y Trabajo y postmodernidad. El empleo débil (Fundamentos, Madrid, 2001). ENRIQUE MARTÍN CRIADO. Doctor en sociología por la Universidad Complutense, es actualmente profesor en el Departamento de sociología de la Universidad de Sevilla. Ha publicado varios artículos sobre análisis de discurso, metodología, sociología de la educación, sociología del trabajo y sociología de la familia, así como los libros Producir la juventud (Istmo, Madrid, 1998) y, junto a otros autores, Familias de clase obrera y escuela (Iralka, Donostia, 2000).
